We’ve finally entered into the new year of 2017. For many, this is an opportunity for new beginnings, fresh starts, and taking up new interests.
Personally I don’t believe in resolutions, mainly because so often the motivation of the new year fizzles out come the end of January and you’re left with that guilty feeling of failure. I might add that this isn’t the case for a lot of people – I envy these people. So instead I’ve written myself a “Reminder List” for 2017. It’s not something that I need to religiously follow everyday – but on the occasions I need a pick me up, I read over it to remind me of the simple things that can make a big difference. So here goes:
- Drink more water
- Make better food choices
- Exercise a little more
- Make time to meditate
- Be happy
- Be calm
So as you can see, they’re simple things. I’m not committing to losing X amount of weight by such and such a time, or meditating every single day or having a smile on my face every minute of every day. Instead, I will just promise that I will do these things more than I don’t… and that’s it. Not only will these things benefit me, but they will benefit the loved ones around me. Happiness is contagious and being calm changes the energy around you…
So happy new year everyone, let’s do this!
